Philly Sketchfest was created in 2008 to celebrate sketch comedy in the City of Brotherly Love. Over the years, Philly Sketchfest has brought some of the best sketch comedians to Philadelphia. In addition to live shows, Philly Sketchfest also produces a podcast, My First Sketch, hosted by Josh Higham, available wherever you get your podcasts.
Description
"Led by instructor and sketch comedian Curt Riedy, you'll learn the foundations of writing and developing SNL-style comedy sketches for both the stage and video! In this course, we’ll teach you the basics of sketch comedy writing and structure, along with how to edit and revise your material in a collaborative “writer’s room” setting. We’ll also offer some tips on creating unique characters and share some tried-and-true methods for creating short-form comedy in the vein of Saturday Night Live, Key & Peele, Kids in the Hall and many more."
